One of my all time favorites.

I don't know what to make of any of these characters; eccentric types rather than fully-formed people. There's a corny quality to the story, which makes the film seem older than 1980. I suppose it's what you get when a French director tries to tell an American story. However, Louis ...Read more

Great companion piece to Burt's first film, "The Killers", where he almost kills himself over Ava Gardner in Atlantic City. "You should have seen the Atlantic Ocean back then. It was really something!"

Fabulous Burt Lancaster. Kate Reid is terrific and Susan Sarandon is so beautiful... I had seen that movie years ago but enjoyed seeing it again.
