Calvin Klein Part of the Series: Designer Marathon Volume 5

Though he began his business in 1968, Calvin Klein became a household name in the 70's when he decided to put his name on jeans, launching the designer jean craze of the next decade. Immediately identifiable for his clean lines and neutral palettes, Calvin kept the focus on modernity. In 2003, Calvin sold the company to Phillips Van-Heusen, and in 2004, Francisco Costa took over as head designer. Costa has clearly understood the trademarks of the house, taking the unmistakably clean aesthetic to an elegant new level in sportswear.
