Another Ivory-Merchant-Jhabvala collaboration. They set the bar so high for themselves that I'm always amazed they live up to it time after time. It's my favorite E.M. All the Victorian puffery without the pre-ordained moral grimness one might expect of the era. An expertly navigated plot by some of the worlds deftest film artists. Perfect.
