An interesting film. Oddly pensive, very slow and thoughtful. A character study that refuses to "give answers", and in that sense Cassavetes has made a work of gritty realism.

Cassavetes questions Hollywood assumptions about how a film should be written, shot, edited, acted, lit, and more. Ben Gazzarra is a truly underappreciated actor.
