Horrific. But in the midst of this film I found myself marveling, sadly, at the machineries of privilege set into high gear when a white, male, American, Ivy League journalist is kidnapped as opposed to the treatment accorded common folk of any nationality or stripe.

This story is just as heartbreaking today as it was when it happened. Michael Winterbottom did the book justice.
