The Tugendhat House Mies van der Rohe's Czech Masterpiece

One of the most influential works of Twentieth Century architecture in Europe was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Although it is beloved of architects the world over, the Villa Tugendhat in the Czech Republic's second city of Brno was not well known to the general public.
Hidden for decades behind wartime Europe and the Iron Curtain, this Mies van der Rohe 1930 modern masterpiece is now a museum open to the public by reservation. The story of the wealthy Jewish family that hired Mies van der Rohe and lived in it for only eight years traces the fate of the house. The program includes Interviews with the art historian daughter of the Tugendhat family, a "nanny" for the children, and with architects who studied with Mies in America.
