Bernanos + Pialat... so strong, so deep like "Diary of a Country Priest" (Bernanos+Bresson) or the opera "Dialogues des Carmelites" (Bernanos+Poulenc). I am not christian but I accept this kind of art when it's so interesting and beautiful.

Movie in the spiritual tradition of Bergman and Bresson. Doesn't seem to interest contemporary filmmakers. Performances were really exceptional, especially Bonnaire's.

Painful to watch for me. Hard to follow such a dark story about sin, Satan and God. I cannot understand how this movie won the Golden Palm in Cannes.
